The client wanted a platform for the family to enjoy while being immersed in the lush trees on their property. Three measures were taken to account for the sway and growth of the trees.
This 12' x 14' deck rests on three beams, fixed to one with and held down to two with floating brackets. Using 1.25" diameter lag bolts, one end of each beam is fastened by a floating bracket and one end by a pivot bracket. The deck's perimeter can also be easily edited as the trees grow in diameter.
One of the trees happened to be be perfectly suited for spiraling circulation. Each of the steps' shape serves as a guide for safe and ergonomic climbing and descending. An adjustable rope configuration prevents falling at an opening in the tree's trunks.
