The seating element is open to the public as it's part of the Project RE_Entry marquee sitting on the Construction Junction retail floor.  It's made from a variety of reclaimed church pew frames and reclaimed Spanish Cedar.  I enjoyed pouring my energy into creating this seat from early iterations of plywood and rubber castings to completing it by hand shaping the ergonomic nuances in-place.  The existing patina/original contours of the church pew frames are largely kept in tact - and only removed for ergonomic conditions.  When viewed from the side one can clearly see the church pew frames meeting each other in unexpected angles.

Replica church pew frames of each variety were used for prototyping because there were only a few of each shape. This is the child seat composed of three church pew frame varieties.

The adult seat is comprised of two church pew frame varieties. The seat and back pieces are the same section of the same church pew frame only cut slightly differerently. The rest of that pieces is used for the child seat.

I rebuilt the church pew frames which were broke with matching wood species. This frame type is a lamination of ash, white oak, red oak, and chestnut.

These pieces for the child seat are laid in order upside down. I kept as much of the existing patina/original shape in tact.

Cutting these on the bandsaw was tough. And half of them - mirror images - had to be cut by hand

This was some of the most beautiful wood I've worked with.  The walnut had large areas of purples and the church pew frames used between the base and the seats was a lamination of ash, white oak, red oak, and chestnut.
